We've lived in the Charleston, SC area for 2 1/2 years and this was our first try at kayaking. We had a great time. It was peaceful and beautiful scenery. The guides were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. We saw a few gators but it was a very hot day. Would highly recommend and can't wait to try out some of their other tours.

We had an absolutely incredible time with Nature Adventures on Shem Creek! If you’re looking for a way to get the family out on the water, this is it. From the moment we arrived, the customer service was top-notch. The staff was friendly, helpful, and made sure we were all set up and comfortable before hitting the water. They truly go above and beyond to make the process seamless. The Kayaking Experience: The water was beautiful, and the paddling was manageable even for the kids. There is something so peaceful about being on Shem Creek, but the highlight was definitely the wildlife. We were lucky enough to see a couple of dolphins swimming nearby, which was a magical moment for the whole family! For the Kids: My boys especially loved the bird-watching guide provided by the team. It turned our paddle into a scavenger hunt, and they had a blast identifying the different species along the way. It’s those extra touches that make this outfitter stand out. Whether you're a local or just visiting, I can't recommend Nature Adventures enough. We’ll definitely be back for another family paddle!

It was a seemless experience to rent paddleboards from Nature Adventures on Shem Creek. It was a little windy, so the guide recommended paddling up stream against the wind first then relaxing on the way back. I appreciated the thoughtful advice.

Staff is really great. I went out paddle boarding for about 45 minutes until I fell into some shallow waters where the oysters are. Cut my feet moderately bad. Be careful out there! I made my way back and the staff took care of my injuries and made sure I was all right. Elizabeth the one in charge took care of me so well. 100/10 experience. Good place to have fun with your friends.

This was my first time paddle boarding, and I went with someone who has done it multiple times. Our reservation was for 10 am on a Saturday morning, and they were very busy! Workers were running around trying to outfit tour groups, and if you weren't in a group, you had to stop someone to ask where you go to get life jackets, paddles, etc. We snagged a worker who was gearing us up, only to have our equipment taken away by another worker who said that equipment was intended for his group. So, our guy had to run off again and find us more. However, all the workers we encountered were very nice! When we got out in the harbor, however, everything was great. Loved the dolphins, sea turtles, and all the birds!! Be warned, though, that boaters DO NOT like paddle boarders and kayakers. We heard a couple of rude and impatient things being yelled by people on boats to those on paddle boards and kayaks. Stay out of the middle of the waterway, for sure!!
