We took a kayak tour on Shem Creek on the last day of our vacation. The weather looked great all week, then 16 hours before our tour it looked like we were going to get rained out. Because we had an hour drive, the receptionist accommodated us by moving our morning tour later in the morning in case we needed to reschedule. Thankfully the weather cleared and gave us a beautiful morning. Our tour guide, Zach, asked, "Who's your weather guy?" because the morning was so clear and the water was so smooth. We've been on several kayaking tours in different cities and we've never seen so many varieties of birds or had such a knowledgeable or friendly guide. Tour guide was very knowledgeable.

My husband went along with my desire to take a kayak tour this week while staying at the Shem Creek Inn. The tour was both informative and relaxing. You can’t beat two hours on the water on a sunny day. The only down side for me was that we spent too much time cruising vs paddling.

First, we arrived a little late and even though they said get there earlier to park and use restrooms, they were very welcoming! Staff was amazing! Went over everything very thoroughly and did not rush us. The area was beautiful to kayak through. Through the marshes and the channel. Marshes were amazing and very calm and peaceful!! I highly recommend the company. After or before several choices of restaurants right there!!

The guides attunement to birds fish and habitat. So enlived the experience. Even saw a fox. So glad I went.

The kayak tour was great for my first time kayaker wife and myself. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They were extremely accommodating to my wife and I as we came on the wrong day (my fault) and they fit us in with a tour later that day instead of making us come back the next day! Would highly recommend for those visiting or locals who want to see dolphins or manatees on Shem Creek!

Great place to get out on the water near Charleston. The guides are knowledgeable and passionate, and pointed out a lot of things I would have missed otherwise. They will also give you directions to different places to check out that were not included on the tour. I ended up going back after lunch and paddled for the rest of the day by myself. Each guide seems to have their own area of expertise, and the tours are different from guide to guide, as well as time of day, as tides seem to play a factor in which "route" the guide takes. I have been three times now, and can't recommend this company highly enough.

Our family of four had a wonderful time on the two hour tour. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable - our 7 and 9 year olds really enjoyed it - especially when the dolphins came right by our kayaks.

We had a great tour with Tori! She was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic! Tour was relaxing and enjoyable. Saw dolphins, birds, crabs and even Outer Banks filming!

We rented a tandem kayak & went on the Wambaw Swamp Wilderness kayak & canoe trail. It was amazing.... Saw alligators & several different types of birds too. The water was super easy to paddle & the kayak very stable & comfortable. The reflections in the water were beautiful. Im sure the guided tour would be just as great if not more so with the added information. We chose to rent & go our own way since we had lots of prior kayak experience. The guided tour would be perfect for those with little or no experience in a kayak or canoe. Great place, friendly staff... I highly recommend this place to experience something different & wonderfully in the area.

The trip got 1 hr delayed and we waited in the sun. We had to pay $4 just to apply sunscreen and they didn't even offer a discount even though the trip was 1 hour late. One of the two guide was very friendly and informing, but the other talked for such a long time about irrelevant things.

Such a fun afternoon on the water with my son! Alex was a great guide and made the whole experience relaxing and fun. Dolphin sightings aplenty too!

Charlie was a joy to paddle with! We saw dolphins and lots of other wildlife on our 2 hour tour.

We had an amazing time on Shem Creek! Our tour guide, Charlie, was fantastic! He had a wonderful sense of humor, a great disposition, and really made the day special. He also shared so much interesting information about the area, which made the trip even more enjoyable. It was such a fun day with friends!

Matt was a great guide for our guided tour. This is a great option for paddlers wanting to see a bit of the When Creek area. Easy water access and no fuss putting in and taking out. Highly recommend this business!

We had a wonderful experience on our 2 hour guided kayak tour. It definitely was exhausting toward the end but so worth it. We saw a dolphin in the creek!! So crazy. The scenery was beautiful. Our tour guide Ethan was great! I definitely recommend!

There were 17 of us. The staff took the time to acquaint us all to our own comfort level. When we put in the water it was pouring down rain but it soon stopped. We had the boards for 3 hours and this was the right amount of time. There were dolphins everywhere! On our return, a family (a mom, dad, & baby) joined us! They played around our boards, putting on a very good show, for about 40 minutes. We were the ones that had to leave, not the dolphins! I would certainly recommend this and I would do it again!

Had an amazing time with our knowledgeable, professional, and passionate guide! Loved seeing a rainbow, dolphins, and the sun setting and splaying gorgeous colors across the Charleston harbor as the moon rose and began to light up across the sky as it darkened. Such a memorable experience I would recommend to anyone! 🌈🐬🌅🌕

Great tour for kayakers of all levels. Alex was a great tour guide. Everyone was super nice and helpful. Highly recommend.

We took the kayak tour of Wambaw Blackwater Creek in the Francis Marion National Forest with our two kids ages 10 and 13. It was a beautiful paddle up stream for an hour and 1/2 and then an even more relaxing paddle/ float downriver for another hour and 1/2. Our guide Jay was a good combination of interesting facts and guide as well as just letting us paddle and enjoy the scenery. We saw a couple small alligators, an owl and lots of birds. We had previously done a kayak trip with Nature Adventures on Shem Creek 2 years ago and enjoyed that as well. We saw lots of dolphins and birds on that trip. Two very different paddles, each equally enjoying. Good for beginners or experienced paddles.

We had a great trip on the water for a 2 hour guided tour. Matt was our guide and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. We saw lots of wildlife, including dolphins swimming around kayaks! The equipment was clean and in good condition. The entire staff was friendly and easy to work with. I highly recommend for couples or families. Kids would love this activity!

Went out on the 1000 tour just myself and wife. Tour guide was excellent on local birds and marine life. On a august morning, definitly need to bring water. Equipment and pfd's in good shape well maintained. Staff friendly and very helpful. Definitly a repeat on our next visit here. Recommend to others.
