The 2-hour kayak tour with Shem Creek Nature Adventures was absolutely amazing! We were thrilled to see dolphins up close, which has been on my Charleston bucket list! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the kayaks were in excellent condition. The tour was well-paced with plenty of relaxing breaks, making the two hours feel easy and enjoyable. We had Ethan as a tour guide and he made the tour so educational and humorous! Highly recommend this tour for a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. Five stars!

Excellent trip as always - Charlie was very informative

We had a perfect morning with cloud cover and very gentle breezes to moderate the heat. Ben was very knowledgeable and made the tour really interesting by sharing all kinds of historical and scientific information. In summer we were very glad we took the 8am tour.

Had a great time. Matt was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. I would do it again and request Matt as the guide. This is a must do in the area.

This was an amazing vacation... I was uncertain as to what to expect considering I was not familiar with the company or knew anyone going on this trip (signed up online & I live 800+ miles away). The communication via emails prior to the trip where very well informing & eased any concerns. The professionalism, friendliness & well planned daily events were great. Everyday was filled with beautiful sites & experiences of Costa Rica.... The history of the culture, land, animals and ecotourism (which I highly value) provided so much knowledge & beauty to the experience. I loved seeing & experiencing nightly stays not only the "nicer resorts" but also the smaller family-run resorts that provided us with a glimpse of culture of the Costa Rican... the music, food & friendliness. Days were spent hiking on the old lava flow beds of an inactive volcano, enjoying the natural hot springs, “safari” rafting trip down the Penas Blancas river & meeting a local rural farmer who is an amazing 102 years old, zip-lining, kayaking and snorkeling the Pacific ocean, a local naturalist guided tour of Manuel Antonio National Park, a day spent at La Paz Waterfall and Wildlife Gardens, afternoons spent walking a gorgeous beach, visiting dozens of shops and restaurants, and open-air souvenir markets in various small towns & villages that we stayed at. Even when there was medical attention required by occasional participants the organizers were quick to seek out immediate response & facilitating the appropriate medical care needed. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour, the group & all the hard work that staff at Nature Adventures Outfitters (Nature Adventures Kayak & Canoe) provided to make this a 7 day vacation that I will never forget & am looking forward to attending another tour that they plan for in July - but will have to wait until 2015!!!!!!!

Perfect Weather, Great Equipment, Knowledgeable & PERSONABLE GUIDE! If you’ve ever rented a canoe, kayak or other water vessel, the life jacket is part of the gig. THANKFULLY, these life jackets didn’t have the customary raunchy odor as has been my experience in the past when renting other places. Two hours went by so quickly. Charlie, our guide was GREAT at answering me rifling questions at him! I highly recommend this business.

Amazing experience!! Charlie was a great tour guide explaining the history to us!! We even saw many dolphins which made the experience even better :) and even got to stop to take many photos and videos on the trip!!

Ethan was a great tour guide today ... very patient, friendly knowledgable & passionate about his job and the ecosystem. We enjoyed learning about the specific plants & animals and some history of the area. We highly recommend a morning tour followed by lunch or dinner on the water while watching the pelicans and dolphins in the creek.

Every trip with them is awesome! I have developed a true love of paddling with them. Elizabeth is awesome!

We had a great time paddling into the harbor and around Shem Creek. Our guide was knowledgeable about the marsh and the animals that call it home. We saw all kinds of native birds and fiddler crabs. With older kids/teens you could do this paddle without a guide. Great trip!

My husband and I did this adventure as something to mark off of the bucket list. We were AWFUL at kayaking but Jim was very patient with us. We did the two-person tandem that took lots of team work. We will definitely be returning to try it on a single person kayak. It was a great way to end our vacation. Also, we did the sunset tour. It was hot and tiring but great view.

It was a very fun and memorable experience! The guides are very knowledgeable and informative. It was worth the view and adventure. Would definitely recommend this activity to a must Things-to-do in Charleston!

Amazing tour with Charles! We had the best time

Ask for Ryan he was a fantastic tour guide that knew what he was talking about! He explained the wildlife and vegitation around us and was sire to ask what kind of tour we wanted (more or less talking). We chose the less talking option and saw a 4 foot gator, yellow crested night heron, multiple barn owls picking up fiddler crabs, and a copper head snake hiding in a tree log. It was totally worth the time and money! Be sure to tip your guides well they work hard 😊

Even though it rained beforehand, it was worth the wait. And rain made the dolphins more active. Bryson was an awesome guide. It was a first for a friend an me and so much fun! Will definitely return!

Our guide ( Charlie ) was terrific - funny , knowledgeable and pleasant company for the five of us. My daughter gave me a very hard time about leaving only a 16.25 % tip - so Charlie - I will make up for it when I do the Francis Marion guided tour. ( please send any other info ). Also - the shore crew were good people. Thanks again.

We had a very nice trip for our sons 15th birthday. Our guide Jacob was awesome, he was a very nice and informative guide. I would absolutely use them again for our next kayak trip.

This was a great experience for my college softball team!! We had so much fun and learned so many useful things to carry into our season. Would highly recommend for any team or business bonding!!!

Our family did the guided tour in tandem kayaks: two adults with our 11 & 8 year olds. Very pleasant experience with a great guide who was clearly very knowledgeable about the marsh ecosystem. This was not a particularly vigorous excursion - we are only intermittent kayakers and found the pace very manageable and even a little too easy but it was a relaxing and enjoyable introduction to the area.

I recently did a 3.5 + hour guided saltwater kayak tour with Nature Adventure Outfitters. I cannot express what a super time I had. If you plan on a tour with this company you will not be disappointed. Our guide Ed was amazing. His knowledge and enthusiasm made the trip. Ed gave us an extra .5 hour just because he loves to paddle, guide and is passionate about the local flora and fauna. Have fun!

A great way to spend an evening. So relaxing and the veiw of Shem creek and Crab island were awesome. Bryson Butler was our tour guide, very nice and knowledgeable, genuinely friendly. i am very familiar with kayaking however my husband was not. Once in the water he was doing just fine and enjoying as much as i do. It is so peaceful and the best way to see wildlife. There are many dolphins in the area, one of which had a baby with it. I recommend the 430 tour for very nice sunset pictures. They do provide wet bags to keep your items from getting wet. I do advise to bring extra clothes for after and to dress for the water. Wear sunglasses also.I also often bring a towel or small pillow to sit on .We were lucky to be the only two going out that evening and so we and plenty of room to move around and not bump each other. We look forward to coming back again.

So informative and picturesque! Honestly, this was the best experience of our trip! We saw dolphins, lots of birds, learned about sea preservation in the area. It was amazing!

Nature Adventures ROCKS! Can't say enough good things about the 2-hour kayak tour. My son and I were first time kayakers and the guide (and the group) were so patient with us. Our guide (Merrill) was very knowledgeable and friendly and made for a great time. I even had one cancel out on me and had to rebook a tandem into a single upon arrival and was credited the difference without even asking! Fantastic business!!!

This was our first time kayaking and it was amazing! Our guide, Matt, was very knowledgeable regarding the regional history and nature. The kayaks were clean and comfortable and we were given proper instruction so that as "newbies" it was nothing stressful. We saw some really cool wildlife and heard some interesting facts. My only advice: 1. It was much sunnier than I had expected - definitely need to wear sunscreen. 2. The road to the loading spot was very bumpy with deep potholes - if you could drive a larger vehicle, it would be much easier to navigate than a low-riding car. 3. Keep your eyes open - there are so many cool things to see - just have to spot them!
